A THRIVING COMMUNITY THAT’S MAKING A DIFFERENCE
Building a stronger, more connected community
People often pass by our beautiful home, unaware of the vibrant life unfolding beyond the wrought iron gates. But step inside and you’ll find something special.
We’re not only here for our residents, tenants, and team – we’re proud to be a good friend and neighbour to the wider community. From supporting local partnerships to opening our doors for special events, we believe in the power of connection and community spirit.
Proud to be part of Reigate & Banstead
We’re active across the local area – visiting schools, hosting MPs and councillors, and working alongside brilliant partners such as the Banstead Veterans Hub, Surrey Care Association, and RNA Purley.
Our team and residents regularly take part in outreach – from sharing stories with schoolchildren to building relationships with fellow care professionals and local leaders. These moments matter. They help forge friendships, strengthen understanding, and remind us that our roots run deep.
Whether you’re a local resident, school, organisation, or volunteer group – we’d love to hear from you.

Welcoming friends & neighbours in
We don’t just step out – we open up. Throughout the year, we host a variety of events where friends, families, and neighbours are warmly welcomed.
From summer parties and BBQs to our popular Open Gardens, seasonal fairs, Christmas Lights Switch-On, and the monthly Memory Café – there’s always something happening. It’s all about connection, celebration, and opening our gates with a smile.
Keep an eye on our Facebook page for dates and invitations.
“Thank you, Belvedere House, for opening your doors to the local community and supporting Jenny and I to deliver the Memory Café. It’s so important for people with memory loss and their families to have a safe environment where they feel supported and looked after.”
Sue, Surrey Heartlands Integrated Care Partnership
Let’s work together
We love hearing from friends and neighbours – so please get in touch.
If you’ve ever thought about volunteering, this could be your sign. Whether you’re an individual looking to give back regularly, or a local business wanting to support a community project, there’s a place for you here.
From sharing a cup of tea and conversation to lending a hand at an event or offering your skillset as part of a volunteering day – you can make a real difference to the lives of our residents. And you’ll be amazed at how rewarding it can be.

Words of appreciation
Real voices, real impact – here’s what people say about working with us:

Such a rewarding experience.
Volunteering at the Royal Alfred was such a rewarding experience. It was great to see the difference we could make… the warm welcome from staff and residents made the day even more special.
Maggie, Bytes Software Services

Incredible.
The facilities here are incredible, I was especially fond of their interactive and sensory areas.
Councillor Shelly Newton

Honoured to attend the D-Day 80th anniversary service.
I was honoured to read the International Tribute and mark this important anniversary with local residents at the Royal Alfred.
Councillor Rebecca Paul
Last evening we were delighted to attend the Annual National Service for Seafarers at the beautiful #stpaulscathedral, hosted by The Seafarers’ Charity
It was a moving and memorable occasion, bringing together those who share a deep respect for the seafaring community, past and present. The service was a reminder of the sacrifices, dedication, and courage of all who serve at sea, and the importance of continuing to support them and their families.
We are proud to have been part of this special gathering and grateful to St Paul’s for hosting such a meaningful event.

Another beautiful blanket from our Knit & Natter group! These handmade blankets will be keeping our residents cosy, especially on trips out as the days turn chillier.
The group is open to all, whether you’re a knitting pro or just fancy a chat, and meets every Friday at 2pm in the bar at Belvedere House. Why not pop along and join us?

We were delighted to be invited to Reigate Town Hall recently, where our residents and tenants enjoyed a fascinating visit hosted by @rbbc_mayor .
It was a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the rich history of the building and the local area, as well as to ask questions and see parts of the Town Hall not usually open to the public.
A huge thank you to the Mayor for such a warm welcome and for making the day so enjoyable, our group had a fantastic time!

We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to Neil for his extremely generous donation, which has enabled us to purchase new benches, chairs and tables for the courtyard off the Princess Royal Wing.
Neil’s wife, a proud former member of the WRNS, is one of our much-loved residents. His kindness means that she, along with many other residents and their families, will be able to enjoy this beautiful outdoor space in comfort. The courtyard is already a favourite spot to gather, and these new additions will make it an even more welcoming place to relax and spend time together.
On behalf of everyone at Belvedere House and The Royal Alfred Seafarers’ Society, thank you, Neil, for your generosity and thoughtfulness.
