Sheltered Housing in Surrey at the Weston Acres Estate

Welcome to our sheltered housing in Surrey, situated on the Weston Acres Estate.

Our sheltered accommodation is set on the same estate as Belvedere House, a beautiful Banstead nursing and care home for ex-seafarers and their dependants. Operated by the Royal Alfred Seafarers’ Society, our sprawling 14-acre estate is a slice of paradise on land for those who’ve spent their lives at sea.

We offer 22 sheltered-living flats for occupants, ranging from ensuite rooms to bedsits and apartments. We’ve designed them to be a home from home for our long-term residents.

If you’re looking for the perfect blend of independence, social activity and relaxation, our premium sheltered housing in Surrey for retired seafarers could be the ideal solution.

And if you’re interested in knowing more, we’d love to show you around.

What to expect at Weston Acres

Independence, dignity, comfort. We understand this is what our tenants most want – and it’s what we work hard to provide with our mix of sheltered housing.

Converted flats make up the main bulk of the accommodation, each located within our stunning Weston Acres House building. We also offer bedsits and two-bedroom apartments.

Our sheltered accommodation is broken down like this:

– 10 converted studio apartments in the Grade II-listed Weston Acres House

– 8 purpose-built studio apartments

– 2 two-bedroom apartments.

– 1 lodge bungalow

The apartments are self-contained with kitchenette, bathroom, TV/phone points, wheelchair access, central heating and fitted carpets. Otherwise, the units are unfurnished so residents can make themselves at home with their own things.

All residents staying with us at our premium  sheltered accommodation in Surrey have access to a Sheltered Housing Manager, who serves as the primary point of contact. Residents can check in with them during working hours, and they will always be happy to help.

While our sheltered housing doesn’t provide direct domiciliary care services, we can signpost tenants to local providers if additional support is needed.

Our rent structure for the sheltered housing ensures financial consistency and transparency for all of our tenants

Flat rents are as follows (per calendar month):

– From £590 for a studio flat for one person

– From £1,190 for a two bedroomed flat.

Putting community first

We want all our tenants to feel part of the community. And as such, tenants of our sheltered accommodation in Surrey are welcome to use the facilities within the Belvedere House care home, including the bar, and our beautiful 14-acre grounds.

And we welcome all tenants to take part in the wide range of entertainment and social activities offered on site, too. This helps to bring about a sense of togetherness; we want staff, care home residents, sheltered housing tenants, and their loved ones to all interact and engage with each other within our shared spaces.

We also offer sheltered accommodation tenants the option to join the lunchtime meal service at Belvedere House for a small fee.

We intend our sheltered housing to be occupied long-term, and this can often serve as a pathway for those eventually needing the higher level of care offered on the same site by the Belvedere House nursing home.
