Legacies

Leaving a legacy is a very special and unique way of helping a charity. After ensuring the needs of your immediate family and friends are taken care of, you may choose to remember the Royal Alfred Seafarers’ Society in your Will, ensuring your support of the charity continues after your death.

Legacies provide us with a very important source of income and we are grateful to those individuals who have thought of us for this purpose. This type of support helps to ensure that our work carries on for future generations of seafarers.

How to

If you are kind enough to remember the Royal Alfred in your Will, we suggest that the following wording might be appropriate:

"I give and bequeath to Royal Alfred Seafarers' Society (Registered Charity No 209776) the sum of £[x], or all the residue of my estate, or [x] % of the residue of my estate. And I declare that the receipt of the Chief Executive or other authorised officer for the time being of the Charity shall be sufficient discharge to my executors."

Always speak to a solicitor when making a Will to ensure your wishes are properly and fully carried out when you die.
